President's Letter

A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT

2007-2008 has proven to be an outstanding year for the North Palm Beach Dental Society. We were able to see an increase in membership as well as a large surplus in the dental society’s savings account. Our outgoing president, Dr. DeFabrique, skillfully negotiated the society through a difficult economic time. We also transitioned into a new location for our meetings and had a fantastic year-end Staff Appreciation cruise. All in all, 2007-2008 was a year of wonderful growth.

As we move forward we are expecting some great things for 2008-2009. We expect a large increase in membership. We will be having the meetings at Cantina Laredo, a Mexican restaurant located centrally on PGA Boulevard. Meetings will be held every other month. The restaurant has fantastic food and a relaxed atmosphere, that should be enjoyable to everyone. Meeting topics will focus on non-dental issues as we are striving for ever-interesting topics and discussions. We will continue to provide CEU’s for meetings where credit is appropriate.

As we move forward to another year I encourage new members to join the “brotherhood” of membership. In addition old members who may have taken a break from membership should strongly consider joining. Membership provides a multitude of benefits such as peer review (litigation avoidance), political representation, CE credit, community outreach, new dentist support and the magnitude of being “involved”. If there are any additional issues both myself and our officers would be happy to address these by email or phone.
